RIO Rancho, NM
ABQ Security Systems is proud to say we service Rio Rancho, New Mexico. We don’t like saying it out loud but Rio Rancho is comparable to the favorite child. We love her, and we hope she loves us back! Maybe it’s the people or just the feeling in the air, but something about it makes us happy. It happens to be the home to a large number of young families, and ironically enough is a low-crime location. For those of you that live in Albuquerque reading this, don’t worry we love you just as much.
It’s an interesting debate we commonly have among ourselves, the correlation between safe neighborhoods and security systems. There is without a doubt a strong correlation, but why that is sometimes is hard to understand. Here’s our hypothesis: areas and neighborhoods with low crime are that way for a reason. Sometimes it’s a community full of officers that makes it that way. We believe that the more security systems an area or community has, the lower the likelihood of having a break-in. Sometimes you have to reverse engineer the burglar. If you were a burglar looking to be a dirty thief and complete a home robbery, what area would you target? I assume if you had the choice you would choose the one with less chance of getting caught. Common sense tells us that there’s a higher likelihood of you getting caught at a house with a system than a house without one.
Do I need a security system in Rio Rancho?
Great question, do you? That one is in your court. As we mentioned before, we believe that areas are safe for a reason, so yes you have a better chance of staying safe than other less secure neighborhoods. Yet there is always that chance that something could happen. You don’t want to be the one that though he knew better and gets hit hard. You’ll spend the rest of your life with a security system that resembles fort knox. We’ve seen customer after customer come to us and tell us their story. The name is always different but the theme remains the same, what started as a tough guy, turns to mr. security for the rest of his life in an attempt to never have to deal with that type of experience again. It’s real, it will haunt you and consume you for the rest of your life. Do everything you can to prevent it.
Albuquerque isn’t a small city. Yet something tells me that what really put it on the map was the popular show “Breaking Bad.” If you haven’t seen it, you need to stop reading this page right now and go watch it on Netflix. The show is filmed in Albuquerque and for those that have not seen it, is based around the story of a teacher that gets cancer and begins making and selling meth to help pay the bills. Yes, it’s wholesome. If you can’t hear sarcasm on our voice, now you know.
With as well known as Albuquerque is, you’d think that Rio Rancho would get some of the love.
Services Offered in Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Back in the day it was huge deal when cell phone providers would roll out their coverage into new territories. You would frequently hear companies like Verizon and AT&T boldly announce, “we have now extended our coverage into your area.” I was among those that got overly excited at such news for something so silly. Yes it’s been some time since that marketing tactic has really been effective, but it wasn’t that long ago. For many that are unaware of the leaps and bounds technology has taken, especially in this space, it is still frequently asked if we offer coverage in certain neighborhoods and communities. With a chuckle we reply in the affirmative, letting them know that although our security systems are robust and intuitive, for the most part all they require is a power source. Yup, thats right our systems do not rely at all on the internet.
Being wireless doesn’t always require a wifi connection. Don’t worry it took a bit of time for us to wrap our heads around this concept. Our systems work off of a cellular connection. Meaning that the entire system is run through the main panel that cleanly sits on your wall in a high traffic area of the home. The panel resembles a tablet, including touch screen capabilities and has a cellular chip embedded within it. We use the main cellular providers and the panels communicate directly through them. Don’t worry, this will not affect your current cell phone plan with your service provider. Without going super nerdy on you, it suffices to say that as long as you live in an area that gets cell coverage you will be eligible for one of our smart home systems.
Wireless Security Cameras
To be honest and fair, there are certain features that will not work to 100% capacity without an internet connection. Our cameras require an internet connection to allow you to view them from your mobile device real time. That’s more than understandable and makes perfect sense. Here’s the good news, even without a internet connection, your cameras will still record to your main panel in the house for your viewing when you arrive back at the home. Using a little thing we like to call Bluetooth, this is made possible. We have customers all the time that get our full home automation package and don’t have an internet connection. The other devices we offer are:
Using the same Bluetooth technology, these automation pieces will all work remotely from any mobile device without the help of internet. It’s incredible to think about how far technology has come in 10 years.
Our favorite customers always end up being the ones that are initially the hardest to get onboard. Of these ‘hard sells’ the question undoubtedly arises, “what happens when the power goes out?” As you probably can guess, we wouldn’t be bringing this point up if it hadn’t been asked 100 times before. It is a valid question and one that should be of concern. Nothing is ever guaranteed and occasionally the power does go out, it’s simply part of life. If security systems stopped working every time the power connection was interrupted, there would be a lot people becoming burglars. Our smart home systems are equipped with a 24 hour backup battery. Now a few of you are wondering what happens if the power is out for longer than 24 hours. That’s a great question. The short answer is, your security system would no longer work. With that said in our opinion, if you find yourself in a situation where the power is out for more than 24 hours, there are bigger problems at stake and a security system is going to be the last of your concerns.
Pros and Cons of a Security System
It doesn’t matter that you live in Rio Rancho. You could live in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, or Austin and you would still ask yourself if paying for a home alarm system was worth the money. As humans we’ve made purchasing mistakes that we more than regret and because of our innate fear of loss, we don’t want to lose more money making the same mistake. This causes us to be overly cautious at times when making what should be simply decisions.
Here’s the overall decision at hand: Is your peace of mind worth the money? That’s it. If peace of mind and sleeping well at night is something you value more than the price point we charge, it’s a done deal. If not, there is no deal and you should stop reading this now because you’re wasting time.
Nothing is for sure in this life. I know thousands of people who have made it through life untouched by burglars and thieves. I also know a handful of individuals that were less fortunate and were hit early on, sometimes affecting them deeply for the rest of their lives.
The choice is yours. Are you a preventative person or a repair person? You may be a risk taker in other areas of your life but is this one worth the risk? Maybe so, we aren’t here to judge, only to inform you of your options. In any case we hope you will consider ABQ Security Systems at this time of your consideration of a home alarm system. From a person perspective there is a night and day difference between having monitored alarm system on at night whilst sleeping and not having one at all. It brings absolute peace of mind for myself but more importantly for the rest of my family, namely my wife. To me that makes it worth every penny.
We look forward to hearing from you! In the rare case that you read everything on this page and didn’t get all your questions answered here or on the home or home security offerings pages, please feel free to call!
