Wireless Security System
You want a basic home alarm system and we couldn’t be happier to walk you through your options.
All of our equipment is wireless, so you can forget about the landline. There won’t be any messy wires running every which way either. This package includes options like:
Depending on the package you decide to go with you will be alloted a certain amount of equipment that will allow you to customize your security system. We do it this way because everyone has their own opinion in regards to how they want their home protected. For example, there are some that believe the only way to protect themselves from intruders is by putting a sensor on every single entry point. There are others that are satisfied with having 3 sensors (one on each door) and a motion detector in the living room. These people aren’t necessarily worried about break-ins when they are also present, they are more concerned about the times they themselves are away from the home. The theory for these folks is that even though they don’t have a home security system with cameras, when someone walks into their home the motion detector will pick them up.
The beauty behind any combination of these products is that you will undoubtedly sleep better at night. We have to warn you that if you sleep one night with a monitored alarm system, you will never go back. We mean it.
Fire alarms are a huge deal for a lot of people. Very often the home owners insurance provider with specifically ask you if you have monitored fire protection in addition to the windows and doors. There is rumor that there are additional discounts from some providers for having the fire alarm connected to the system. We can recount story after story of families homes, pets, and even lives being saved by these monitored devices. Unlike the ordinary smoke alarm you buy from Home Depot or Lowes, these smoke alarms pick up heat and smoke. Rapid increases in heat will set them off as quickly as a roomful of smoke. From the time a fire is detected to the our company is on the line with you, is on average less than one minute.
If you consider yourself an old school person, this package is for you. You will especially like our key fob option. Although we do install a touch screen panel in a high traffic area in the home, the key fob will allow you to limit all interaction with that piece of technology. You simply hold one button to turn the system on, and one button to turn it off. It is honestly that simple. We have set up customers that are in their 90’s with a burglar alarm like this, and with the help of a key fob, they set their system every time that door closes and turn it off every time the door is opened.
Other Reasons For a Security System
On more than one occasion we’ve done business with a family (usually a worried mother) that gets a security system for a few of the features some don’t even know exist within our systems. You probably guessed these are usually mothers that have teenage sons and daughters. Let’s face it, as parents we worry about those little ones of ours, even after they aren’t so little anymore.
Smart notifications have become the go-to curfew tool for thousands of families in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho area. The way it works is simple and sophisticated all at the same time. Upon getting your new smart home system installed one of our tech professionals will gladly help you set up an alarm code for each member of your family. If you have the smart lock, this code can also be used for the automated lock.
After everyone is set up with their own individual unique code, our beautiful LCD touch screen panel begins to track every action and activity in the home. For example, let’s say your 16 year old son decides to come home after curfew. In his head he thinks that because all the lights are off and you and your spouse are asleep that he will be able to get away with being 15 minutes past the designated time. He quietly slips in the door, up the stairs, and into bed as if nothing ever happened. A slight grin crosses his face as he doses off, he’s pull off the unthinkable.
Little does Johnny know that as soon as he opened the front door, your mobile devices all received a notification that a door had just been opened. Even better, if you aren’t a notifications person, you can easily go into your mobile app the following morning and see a timestamp of when that particular door was opened and closed.
We know, we know, this would have been an absolute nightmare for all of us as teenagers and we would have cursed the company that dare invent such a product. Thank goodness we aren’t teenagers anymore, right? Our smart system and mobile app tracks each action until a certain amount of storage is filled up within the panel on the wall, which communicates with the app. Many times we get asked how many days the events are tracked for. That could vary greatly depending on how much activity goes on throughout the system.
Security For My Garage Door
Does my overhead garage door really need to be worried about? If so, what are my options and is this going to cause a string of false alarms every time I open my garage door from my remote in my car?
We deemed this question appropriate to address given the situational nature of this question. When it comes to designing and installing custom alarm system packages, there are never any one-size-fits-all answers, ever. Even when two houses are the same, the people within those homes are obviously going to have differing preferences, habits, and concerns.
The first thing to address when seriously asking this question is, “do you have anything in your garage that is worth anything?” Obviously everything has some value, but you need to step outside your own shoes for a moment become the thief. Think about everything inside your garage the way a burglar would. Consider if that special chair your son built in woodworking class is all that appetizing to a thief. If you have to spend more than a couple seconds thinking about that, then you don’t have a thing of value in there. End of story. Hate to break it to you, but grandma’s quilt that means so much to you, doesn’t mean a thing to anyone else if it doesn’t sell for a lot of money.
I know, I get it, we are harsh and brutally honest. If there is nothing of value in the garage, then don’t cover the garage. It’s going to cost you unnecessary money. It is part of our basic package to cover all three to four doors leading into the house, so even if someone figures out how to get past that first overhead door, they aren’t getting into the house without breaking down the door and listening to our high decibel alarm sound in their ear.
On that same note, there are those of you reading this right this very moment that have a very ugly habit that will cost you headache and grief: you constantly leave the garage door wide open when you leave the home. It’s a bad habit and some are worse than others. For such a situation our professionals (technicians) can take one of our door and window sensors and modify it so that each time you leave the home you will be able to see if you left the garage overhead door open or closed. You cannot shut it from this device but you will know what’s going on. We are assuming you have a decent neighbor or two that would kindly head over and shut that door for you.
We call this a ghost sensor. It is called a ghost sensor for its name. It is similar to a ghost. It’s not something that’s easily recognizable but it is there and it is always working. From any smart device with an internet connection, one can go onto our new app and see if that overhead door was indeed left open or if someone previously tried to break it.
